Hi everyone.
I shall also tell you that I'm not a retard at playing this, something is seriously wrong. My f-zero skills are serious, I beat GX's story mode at very hard when I was 16, without knowing any advanced techniques (not even quickturn)
Mistery solved, I have the PAL version -_-

Do you know if it's possible to get the NTSC version to run on a PAL wii?
Works with the Not64 emulator! Such speed, it's not the same game
yeah there are the PAL and NTSC version of this game, hence the WR are separated: http://fzerocentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=13447

NTSC runs on 60 fps and is the original version (and feels more natural because of that)

PAL runs on 50 fps and the speedometer and timer have been adjusted. Basically beating the game on master is easier when playing on NTSC, because it's just the game that speeds up, not only yourself.
I'm not an expert on VC stuff, but maybe you can get the NTSC version on your PAL Wii with softmodding somehow.
For myself, I imported a NTSC-J N64 console from Japan and a japanese NTSC Cartridge to play the NTSC version.
Thanks for the reply.
My wii is already softmodded.
First thing I tried is freethewads, which makes any wad region free. BUT, the game runs at about half speed, with music slown down also.
The only thing that worked so far is Not64 (a N64 emulator that runs on wii). It has occasional framerate drops and texture problems.
Can't find many solutions online, the framerate problem is quiet unique and F-Zero X is not this incredibly popular game apparently.
This is sad by the way, why would they make the PAL version worse?!
If anyone knows a better solution...
the PAL version runs on 50 fps because many TVs in europe weren't able to output 60 Hz NTSC, but PAL 50 Hz, so to make the games playable in europe for the most people the games were changed to 50 fps.
It's actually the case for every N64 game and also for the SNES, where some other games were adjusted like Super Metroid or Yoshi's Island.
There must be a solution then
I'll keep searching
